Introduction

This is the eleventh version of the Starta User Manual.  The manual is still a work in progress, so many topics have not yet been covered.  The updates in this version document most of the major changes that have resulted from the removal of Document Types from the system.

A "Partnership" appendix has now been created in the "Participants" appendix section; this documents the Partnership feature now that this is available at entities other than just the development.  Also, parts of the 'Account Roles' section of the system have now been documented.

People in the system used to be called "users," and this is still the case in some parts of the User Manual.  However, this terminology has begun to be updated, so for a time you will encounter both terms in the manual.  Please bear in mind that they mean the same thing.

The Table of Contents will help you navigate the text by topic.  There is also a glossary for key terms that is linked to the text of the manual.  Words that appear in blue, bold print are glossary terms; a glossary term can be clicked to view a short definition of the word.  Two new features appear for the first time in this version of the User Manual:  Drop-down text that can be viewed by clicking a hot-spot, and image maps, which allow you to click on different parts of some images and use them like links.  See "Using The User Manual" for a more in-depth explanation of these two features.

You will find links (indicated by blue, underlined text) throughout the Manual; these links will take you to other parts of the User Manual, and usually appear when another topic is mentioned that cannot be explained within the current topic.  Some information is set apart from the rest of the text using different fonts to emphasize certain aspects of the information; these are briefly demonstrated and explained in the "Using the User Manual" section.  In addition, there is a Search option that allows you to search the text for key words.

Sections on Reporting and Public Applications are forthcoming.
